PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dixie Small (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Jeremy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dixie Small!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Jeremy!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Small getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Jeremy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Small.
Small scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jeremy throws a low kick, looking for Small's leg but Small calmly moves out of range.
Small rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jeremy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jeremy lands with a straight right. Small didn't see that one coming.
Jeremy misses with a straight left.
Small has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD: Legion's PIT Fight Club in the buildup to the fight.
Jeremy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Small manages to avoid it.
It looked like Small wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jeremy missing with a left hand there. Small was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jeremy throws a hook to the side of Small's head but Small sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Jeremy misses with an uppercut. Small saw that one coming.

The fighters circling - Small throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Small is defended easily by Jeremy.
Small fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jeremy avoids it really well and circles away.
A little jabbing left from Jeremy on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Jeremy moves out of range as Small strikes.

Jeremy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Small sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Small counters with a takedown into side control.
Small taking a break here but Jeremy is having none of it and regains half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Small throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Small stalling away here and it's allowed Jeremy to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Small wants to pass the guard but Jeremy is keeping the position.
Small is fighting to break Jeremy's control of his arms but Jeremy is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Small seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Small postures up in Jeremy's guard and throws a big left but Jeremy blocks it.
Small forces his way into half guard.
Small trying to control the action but Jeremy is working from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Small throwing shots but Jeremy is blocking nicely.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Small decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jeremy regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Small.
Small loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Small throws an elbow that misses. Jeremy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Small's guard. Nice move by Jeremy!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ron Jeremy dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jeremy looks to land a combination. Small sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Small pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jeremy lands with a right hand.
Jeremy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Small manages to avoid it.
Small staying out of range there.
Small misses with a shot to the body
and Jeremy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jeremy misses with a hook
and Small counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Ron Jeremy seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jeremy listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
No luck for Small with that takedown attempt.
Good exchange - Jeremy coming out on top.
Jeremy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Small as he avoids it easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jeremy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jeremy looks to land a body kick but Small moved away.
Small is looking to counter punch.
Small throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jeremy's waist but Jeremy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Small off to one side.
Jeremy cracks Small with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Jeremy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Small moves away.
Small digs a good hook to Jeremy's body.
Small shoots in but no luck this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Small stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jeremy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jeremy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Small is controlling him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Jeremy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Small moves away.

Small throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jeremy's waist but Jeremy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Small off to one side.

Small stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jeremy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jeremy tries to kick Small off but Small keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Small is stalling here. Jeremy is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Small seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jeremy has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Small has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jeremy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Small stops Jeremy from passing to mount.

Jeremy is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Small will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Ron Jeremy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Jeremy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Small throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jeremy has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Small finds it's way round the side to connect with Jeremy's head.

Jeremy throws a right hand that Small ducks under and follows up with a left that Small also avoids with ease.

Ron Jeremy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Small takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Jeremy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Small circles away quickly and effectively.
Small on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Some bone on bone action there as Small checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Small tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jeremy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jeremy let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Small gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jeremy prevents a takedown attempt there.
Small tries to score a body lock takedown but Jeremy shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Small takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Small takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Ron Jeremy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jeremy winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Ron Jeremy rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
In defeat, Dixie Small stepped up to the mic, saying 'It was a good win, but nevertheless, I'll still be bringing home my opponent's girl . Don't feel left out man. And as usual, we'll be making a pov video for all you fans out there. Sayonara'.
