Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Miller (ranked 686 p4p, 83 weight class) and Zang Zhai (ranked 666 p4p, 78 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Zhai's choice of entrance music: Sampans. Zang Zhai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Zang Zhai!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller just misses with a punch to the body.
Miller will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Miller tests Zhai's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Zhai keeps the fight on the outside.
Zhai looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Miller swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Zhai.
Miller throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Miller fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Zhai looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Zhai wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zhai keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Zhai takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Zhai throws a quick inside leg kick.
Miller throws a front kick that sends Zhai stumbling back into the cage.
Miller falls off balance throwing a combination
and Zhai counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Zhai connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Miller connects with a jab.
Zhai scores with a hook.
Miller looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Zhai counters with a nice uppercut.

Oh Miller is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Miller swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Miller seems to have got his legs back now.
Zang Zhai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zhai misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Miller.
Miller feints a jab promting Zhai to slip. Miller then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Zhai slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zhai lands a leg kick that knocks Miller off balance momentarily.

Miller keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Zhai.

Miller shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Zhai is trying to defend but Miller finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Zhai is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Zhai wants to control but Miller is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Zhai wants to improve his position but Miller is controlling well.

Zhai is concentrating on defense, preventing Miller from advancing position.
Miller tries to pass the half guard into mount. Zhai knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Zhai preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Miller misses with the combination.
Zhai only half commits to the counter leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Miller looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Miller clinches up with Zhai and pushes him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Miller wants to stall.
Miller blocks the elbow strike.
Miller lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Miller blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Zhai is looking to control Miller's arms but Miller gets an underhook and turns him. Now Zhai has his back to the cage.

Miller turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Miller moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Miller wants to control but Zhai is keeping him busy.
Zhai is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Miller dominated that round.
That's time! Miller's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Zhai throws out a counter right but Miller avoids it with no problem.
Miller bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Miller staying out of range there.
Miller was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Miller throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Miller throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Zhai sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Miller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zhai can do to turn this around?
Miller is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Zhai blocks the body kick.
Josh Miller is winning the standup battle so far.
Miller takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Zhai avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A chopping leg kick lands by Miller.
Zhai is looking to slow Miller down with leg kicks.
Miller misses with a double jab.

Miller tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zhai swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Zhai with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Miller to score with a decent uppercut.
Miller displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Zhai throws out the jab.
Miller tries to counter by clinching up but Zhai breaks away and moves out of range.
Josh Miller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Zhai fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Miller has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Miller stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Zhai.
Some bone on bone action there as Miller checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Zhai showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Miller.
Zhai slips a straight right by Miller.
Miller walks into a jab.
Zhai lands a nice looking body shot.
Miller throws a left and a right that both miss
and Zhai counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Zhai scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zhai scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zhai pounces like a tiger and cracks Miller with a vicious hook! Miller is down but not out! Zhai follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Zang Zhai!
Zang Zhai decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
