Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 1, fighting out of New York, Frank Lopez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joshua Redding!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Redding connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.


It looks like Frank Lopez has been cut.
Redding chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lopez can pounce on him.
Jab, jab by Lopez - just one landing.
Lopez lands a nice leg kick that just misses Redding's sensitive parts.
Lopez jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lopez ducks right into an uppercut from Redding.
Lopez scores with a hook.
Redding walks into a left hand.
Redding misses with a looping left.
Lopez was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

and Redding counters with a stiff right hand.
Lopez scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Redding takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Redding throws a hook but Lopez avoids it easily.
A little feinted left hand from Lopez on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Redding doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lopez counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Redding is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Redding takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Lopez misses with a series of wild punches.

Redding gets off balance looking for a body kick
enabling Lopez to counter with a crisp jab.
Lopez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
We've been told by Lopez's head coaches at Elite Strikers that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Redding throws a body kick that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Lopez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Redding let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Frank Lopez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Redding throws an off balance right hand
and Lopez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lopez connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Redding takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Lopez lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Redding throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lopez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lopez scores with a hook to the body. Redding takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lopez throws a sloppy head kick and Redding moves out of range easily.
Lopez misses the body punch
and Redding counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Redding walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lopez, right into the meat.
Lopez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Redding looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Redding shoots in but no luck this time.
Lopez scores with a head kick. Redding tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lopez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Redding throws out a loose jab but Lopez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lopez lands a head shot.
Lopez defending well as Redding loads up on a big left hand.
Lopez fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Lopez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Redding has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Redding jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lopez half committed to a counter leg kick.
Lopez lands with a good body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Lopez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Lopez thuds a left hand into Redding's body.
Redding takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lopez misses with a shot to the body
and Redding counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lopez thinking.
Lopez throws a chopping leg kick but Redding manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Redding on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Lopez catches Redding with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Lopez lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frank Lopez is winning the standup battle so far.
Redding throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lopez throws a quick counter head kick but Redding was just out of range.
Redding showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lopez.

Redding takes one to the chin there.
Lopez with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Nice uppercut lands for Lopez. That snapped Redding's head back.
Lopez with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Nice jab there from Lopez.

Lopez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Lopez lands with a nice body punch.
No joy there for Lopez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lopez, as that shot connected.
Lopez throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Lopez scores with a hook.
Redding takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


Redding is rocked!
Lopez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Redding can do to turn this around?
Lopez throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Redding crashing down! Redding tries to stagger back to his feet but Lopez just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Redding asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Lopez!

Joshua Redding was interviewed post fight and said 'Sorry to everyone I let down. I will take this experience, learn from it, and come back like a bat out of hell. You'll all see.'.
