Kannberg's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pavement: 'Date with IKEA'. Scott Kannberg could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Zhuy Hong's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zhuy Hong!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kannberg takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kannberg throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kannberg throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A swing and a miss from Kannberg.
Hong throws a body shot but no joy.

Hong clinches.
Kannberg working aggressively here.
Hong scores with a shot to the side of Kannberg's head.
Hong is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Kannberg blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Hong is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kannberg is defending well for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kannberg's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kannberg tries to land a front kick but Hong steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Hong comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Kannberg rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hong makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zhuy Hong dominated that round.

Hong fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kannberg on the side of the head.

Kannberg tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Hong tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kannberg creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Hong tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Kannberg throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hongs head.
Hong lands an uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hong swings wildly with an uppercut but Kannberg uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hong is looking to control Kannberg's arms but Kannberg gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hong has his back to the cage.

Hong misses with a knee to the head.
Hong lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kannberg backwards.

Hong's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Hong jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kannberg walks away with a smile on his face. Hong gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hong fails to land with a series of punches.
Kannberg appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Kannberg fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hong on the side of the head.
Kannberg throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Kannberg dives in and scores a takedown into Hong's guard.

Hong has an active guard here but Kannberg has managed to pass into half guard.
Kannberg is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hong!
Hong is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kannberg breaks from Hong's wrist control and lands an elbow.


Hong is rocked!
Kannberg loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Hong scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Kannberg land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Kannberg stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Scott Kannberg!
An out of breath Scott Kannberg thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
