Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cristiano Del Vieri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Rydell!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Bruno Lombardi and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Del Vieri tries to clinch up.
Rydell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Del Vieri circles away.

and Rydell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Cristiano Del Vieri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Del Vieri makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Del Vieri throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rydell blocks it with crossed arms.
Rydell is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Del Vieri pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Del Vieri lands a right hand that snaps the head of Rydell backwards.
Rydell is trying to drag Del Vieri to the mat but Del Vieri just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Cristiano Del Vieri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Rydell.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rydell looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

The fight stays on the outside here - Del Vieri looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Del Vieri tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rydell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rydell has a takedown stuffed.

Rydell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Del Vieri is fending him off so far but Rydell persists. Nope, Del Vieri circles away and we're back to standing.

Del Vieri is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Rydell looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Del Vieri!

Rydell works to advance to full mount. Del Vieri defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Del Vieri tries to buck Rydell off so he can stand up but Rydell has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Del Vieri falls backwards, slamming Rydell to the mat but Rydell holds on tight! Del Vieri is forced to tap and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Roger Rydell!
After winning the bout, Roger Rydell thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
