Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Maro Veljanovski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Cajellon!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veljanovski throws a body kick that misses.
Cajellon throws a head kick that Veljanovski semi-blocks.


It looks like Maro Veljanovski has been cut.
Cajellon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cajellon goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Veljanovski dives in and scores a takedown into Cajellon's guard.

Veljanovski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Veljanovski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cajellon wants to sweep here but Veljanovski controlling him for the moment.
Cajellon has momentary wrist control but Veljanovski slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Veljanovski passes into half guard.
Veljanovski slows the pace down in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Veljanovski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cajellon for as long as he can get away with.
Veljanovski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cajellon won't allow Veljanovski to pass to mount.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Veljanovski avoids the head kick by Cajellon.

Veljanovski closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Cajellon is looking to get back to his feet here but Veljanovski is keeping cool and he's managed to take Cajellon's back.
Cajellon trying to control the position but Veljanovski manages to sink in the hooks.

Veljanovski lands with a hammerfist to the side of Cajellon's head.
Cajellon is really stuck here.

Veljanovski has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Cajellon! Can he survive? No! He's out! Veljanovski gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
