PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Garver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Holly Shiet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garver comes to the cage accompanied by Carver. Holly Shiet told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Garver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Holly Shiet!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garver lands with a shot to the body.
Garver scores with a hook.
Shiet swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Garver counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Garver looks to score with a jab to the body but Shiet is just out of range.
As Garver backs off Shiet throws a huge counter combo but Garver manages to avoid it all.
Garver has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Shiet stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Garver.
Garver throws a head kick that Shiet semi-blocks.
Shiet throws a right and a left that Garver avoids nicely.
A solid leg kick lands there for Garver.
Shiet misses with a double jab.
Garver stalks Shiet and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Shiet's face. Shiet staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Garver tests Shiet's chin there with a solid looking shot.
No joy there for Shiet, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

and Garver counters with a nice low kick that buckles Shiet's knee momentarily.

Garver lands a jab to the nose.
Shiet doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Shiet is rocked!

Garver swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Shiet is still on wobbly legs! Can Garver finish him?
Garver cracks Shiet with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Shiet tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Garver pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Shiet is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
