Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Martin Anvil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Master Roshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Master Roshi acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Martin Anvil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Master Roshi!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roshi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Anvil.
Anvil tries to clinch up
and Roshi counters with a straight right hand.

Anvil has managed to clinch.
Roshi blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anvil is pushing Roshi up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Roshi's coach down at CT + BJJ & Wrestling & Boxing & MT SPARRING GYM was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Roshi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Roshi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Martin Anvil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Anvil shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Roshi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
