Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Watanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guido Sarducci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sarducci is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ave Maria. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kenji Watanabe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Guido Sarducci!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watanabe shoots and misses
and Sarducci counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Kenji Watanabe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Watanabe takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Watanabe walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Watanabe throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sarducci counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Watanabe misses with a takedown attempt
and Watanabe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Watanabe takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Sarducci lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Watanabe at a distance.
Watanabe takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A lazy left from Sarducci finds it's target.
Sarducci lands with a cross.
Watanabe takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Sarducci getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Guido Sarducci is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Watanabe fails with the takedown
and Sarducci counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenji Watanabe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Watanabe takes one on the button.
Sarducci looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Sarducci ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Watanabe misses with a takedown
and Sarducci cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sarducci feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Watanabes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Sarducci throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Watanabe stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Sarducci drops Watanabe with a beautiful combination! Watanabe stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Sarducci is looking for the KO!


Watanabe is rocked!
A right-left combo lands from Sarducci.
Oh Watanabe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Watanabe swings widly with a right hand
and Sarducci counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Watanabe seems to have got his legs back now.
Watanabe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sarducci circles away.

No luck for Watanabe with that takedown attempt.
Sarducci lands a jab to the nose.
Sarducci with a body punch. A glancing blow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Watanabe goes for a double leg but Sarducci avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sarducci continues to drive forward.
As Watanabe backs off Sarducci throws a huge counter combo but Watanabe manages to avoid it all.
Watanabe tries for a takedown but Sarducci circles away easily
and Sarducci counters with a left to the body.

Watanabe drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Watanabe sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sarducci is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sarducci is trying to control Watanabe's posture but Watanabe avoids it.
Watanabe cracks Sarducci with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Watanabe creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sarducci sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Watanabe in side control lands a decent elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Guido Sarducci dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Watanabe takes one to the chin there.
Watanabe looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Sarducci lands with a shot to the body.
Watanabe throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sarducci! But no joy.
Sarducci ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sarducci defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Watanabe.
Watanabe throws a combination that misses
and Sarducci counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Watanabe misses with a hook
and Sarducci counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Sarducci bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Sarducci defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Watanabe.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sarducci moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Sarducci scores with a punch to the head.
Sarducci comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Sarducci paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sarducci throws out a powerful jab.

Watanabe shoots and misses

and Sarducci counters with a nice right hand that sends Watanabe toppling to the canvas! Watanabe scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Sarducci finish him?!
Sarducci circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Watanabe to the canvas! Watanabe doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Sarducci keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Guido Sarducci!
An out of breath Guido Sarducci thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
