Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Shannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rayborn Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Rayborn Santana enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Shannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rayborn Santana!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santana throws a hook but Shannon avoids it easily.
Shannon changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Shannon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shannon throws a right hand that Santana ducks under and follows up with a left that Santana also avoids with ease.
Shannon stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Shannon scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Shannon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shannon misses with a looping left.
Shannon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Santana! But no joy.
A jab lands there for Shannon.
Santana checks a leg kick.
Santana misses with a hook.

Santana throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shannon was covering up waiting for the punch and Santana finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shannon wants to stand but Santana is controlling the position.
Santana tries to free his leg and advance position but Shannon is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shannon pulls Santana in close to his closed guard and prevents Santana from doing any damage or advancing position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shannon is on top in guard.

Shannon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Santana escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shannon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Shannon postures up.
Shannon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shannon with a flurry of punches that miss.

Shannon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Santana has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shannon has managed to get both his arms back between Santana's legs - danger averted.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shannon wants to pass the guard but Santana is keeping the position.

Shannon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Shannon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Shannon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Santana working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shannon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shannon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Santana had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shannon defends it easily.

Santana is refusing to be controlled, as Shannon sits in half guard.
Shannon works his foot free and advances to mount.
Shannon wants to control the pace but Santana is squirming around nicely.
Shannon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Santana is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Shannon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santana on the ground.
Santana is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santana regains half guard.
Shannon is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's time! Shannon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Shannon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A punch combination from Shannon misses.
Santana swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Shannon throws the left hand but Santana avoids the punch easily.
Santana throws a body punch but Shannon moves out of range.
Shannon connects with the punch.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Shannon.
Mike Shannon is winning the standup battle so far.

Shannon catches Santana with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Shannon lands a right hook to the body.
Shannon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Santana was well out of range. Poor timing from Shannon.
Santana takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santana throws the left hand but Shannon avoids the punch easily.
Shannon takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Santana swings widly with a right hand
and Shannon counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Santana has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Santana there as he acknowledges the shot.

Santana tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shannon was well out of range. Poor timing from Santana.
Santana is breathing heavily.

Shannon lands a big head kick that sends Santana tumbling to the mat! Shannon takes a step backwards and waves Santana back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Santana is rocked!

It looks like Rayborn Santana has been cut.
Santana looks to land a right hand but Shannon moved out of range.
A quick step to the side and Shannon tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Santana is still on wobbly legs! Can Shannon finish him?
Shannon ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Santana's jaw. Santana's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Shannon does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mike Shannon!
