The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vagos scores with a jab to the body.
Mies has managed to clinch.
Vagos has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mies uses from the top position.
Vagos looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Mies has gone for a leg lock! Vagos slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mies's guard.
Vagos trying to control but Mies is working from the bottom.
Mies has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vagos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Vagos works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Vagos moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Mies.
Mies is trying to work for a sweep but Vagos has mounted him!

Mies is squirming around, avoiding Vagos's attempts to control the action.
Mies wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Vagos is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Mies with him. Mies is trying to defend but Vagos has an arm under the chin now! Mies grimaces and is forced to tap out!
