Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Deontae Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathew Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Monster - Starset as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Deontae Gordon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mathew Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gordon attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Johnson connects with a high kick.
Gordon has his takedown stuffed
and Gordon takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Gordon shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deontae Gordon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Gordon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Johnson throws the kick towards the body but Gordon avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson lands with a straight right. Gordon didn't see that one coming.
Gordon throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gordon misses with a takedown
enabling Johnson to counter with a crisp jab.

Gordon takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Gordon tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gordon shoots in but no luck this time.
Mathew Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Gordon avoids them all with ease.
Gordon lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Johnson misses with a head kick.
Johnson misses with a few strikes there.
Gordon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gordon drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson scores with a spinning back kick!
Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Gordon is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gordon takes a kick to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson scores with a body shot.
Horrible takedown attempt by Gordon or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson, which made it look bad.
Johnson has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Gordon, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Johnson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gordon on the side of the head.
A head kick misses from Gordon.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gordon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Johnson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gordon's head.

Gordon is rocked!
Gordon drops his hands momentarily and Johnson needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Gordon just on the top of the head. Gordon drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Gordon - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mathew Johnson!
After winning the bout, Mathew Johnson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
