Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Casey Bowman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinsuke Mitsurugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bowman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dropkick Murphys - Warriors Code. Mitsurugi has chosen The Rising Sun as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Shinsuke Mitsurugi!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowman scores with a shot to the body.
Bowman stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mitsurugi.
Mitsurugi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bowman manages to avoid it.
An inside leg kick lands from Mitsurugi.
Bowman shoots in but Mitsurugi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
It seemed like Mitsurugi was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Mitsurugi avoids a punch combination nicely.
A chopping leg kick lands by Bowman.
Bowman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mitsurugi tries a quick counter leg kick but Bowman is wise to it.
Mitsurugi connects with a looping right hand.


It looks like Casey Bowman has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bowman lands a nice hook to Mitsurugi's body. Mitsurugi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bowman moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Bowman throws a lazy head kick
letting Mitsurugi counter with a right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mitsurugi takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've been hearing reports that Bowman has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Mitsurugi blocks a head kick by Bowman.
Mitsurugi throws a nice outside leg kick.

Bowman throws a series of punches but Mitsurugi avoids them all with ease.
Mitsurugi misses with a body shot.
Mitsurugi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Bowman fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mitsurugi scores with a jab.


Bowman is rocked!
Mitsurugi thumps Bowman with a low kick.
Oh Bowman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mitsurugi scores with a spinning back kick!
Bowman seems to have got his legs back now.
Bowman throws a nice looking combination but Mitsurugi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bowman throws a head kick but Mitsurugi moves out of range.
Bowman closes the distance and clinches up with Mitsurugi, looking for a takedown. Bowman pushes Mitsurugi against the cage but Mitsurugi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mitsurugi is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Bowman with a body shot.
Bowman is breathing heavily.
Mitsurugi avoids the body shot from Bowman.
Bowman backing away here, and Mitsurugi unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Bowman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Casey Bowman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bowman on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Mitsurugi is looking to slow Bowman down with leg kicks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mitsurugi lands a big head kick that sends Bowman to the canvas! Mitsurugi follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shinsuke Mitsurugi!
In his post fight interview, Shinsuke Mitsurugi started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Casey Bowman spoke after the fight, saying 'I want to thank my team, my sponsor and of course my opponent for this fight. Today he was the better fighter...'.
