PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Taako Tajko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Dilaxo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Taako Tajko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Dilaxo!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dilaxo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dilaxo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tajko tries to counter with a takedown but Dilaxo is quick to defend against it.
Dilaxo throws a left and a right that both miss

and Tajko counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Tajko is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dilaxo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tajko.

Tajko is looking for a kimura but Dilaxo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tajko to get the leverage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tajko seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Tajko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Tajko is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tajko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Tajko perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Dilaxo throws a series of punches but Tajko avoids them all with ease.
Tajko is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Dilaxo misses with a wild combination.
Dilaxo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tajko.
Tajko seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Dilaxo misses with a few strikes there.
Dilaxo fails to land with a series of punches.
Tajko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dilaxo lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Tajko tries for a takedown but Dilaxo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Tajko is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dilaxo sees it coming and defends easily.

Tajko is trying to control. Dilaxo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Dilaxo tries to roll over but Tajko keeps him under control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dilaxo is trying to maintain the position but Tajko is very close to passing his half guard.

Tajko is keen to just control but Dilaxo is a slippery customer.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Tajko takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Dilaxo lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Tajko tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dilaxo defends well and Tajko ends up having to push Dilaxo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taako Tajko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dilaxo misses with a series of wild punches.

Tajko feints and as Dilaxo raises his hands in defense, Tajko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dilaxo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dilaxo keeping moving, preventing Tajko from controlling successfully.

Tajko seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dilaxo for as long as he can get away with.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Dilaxo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Tajko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dilaxo avoids it really well and circles away.
Dilaxo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Tajko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dilaxo pinned against the cage. Dilaxo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Dilaxo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Tajko closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dilaxo quickly recovers to half guard.

Dilaxo manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Tajko keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Dilaxo is looking to break free of the clinch but Tajko has double underhooks.

Dilaxo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dilaxo shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tajko eats them both and turns towards Dilaxo to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dilaxo pushes Tajko up against the cage in a clinch.

Dilaxo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dilaxo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Tajko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dilaxo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dilaxo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tajko advances to half guard.
Tajko works his way into side control.

Tajko is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dilaxo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The referee asks Tajko politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tajko prefers to stall for the moment though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jake Dilaxo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dilaxo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
