Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tom Gentry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rekap East (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
East throws a leg kick but Gentry checks it.
Gentry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gentry tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but East paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Gentry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
East should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

East shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gentry napping and manages to drive through into side control!

East thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gentry is looking to work his way out of this bad position but East is controlling him well.

East goes for an armbar but Gentry turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Gentry.

Gentry swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and East is now in Gentry's guard. A big mistake from Gentry there, giving up the dominant position!

That was a close round but I would say that Tom Gentry will probably get the nod.

East is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gentry defends it well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
East looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

East dives in and scores a takedown into Gentry's guard.

Gentry manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - East has eaten all the pies!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gentry enables East to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gentry manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

East stands and steps away. Gentry gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

East shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gentry's guard.
