Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Virgil Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tigey Maquigregor!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maquigregor lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Morgan circles away quickly and effectively.
Maquigregor misses with a series of wild punches.

Morgan looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Morgan content to stall in guard here.
Maquigregor is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Our spies down at at Johnson MMA inform us that Maquigregor has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Morgan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Maquigregor is on top in guard.

Morgan has a closed guard, preventing Maquigregor from standing up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Maquigregor wants to stand and escape but instead Morgan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Morgan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Morgan forces his way into half guard.
Maquigregor is trying to control but Morgan manages to pass to mount!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Maquigregor wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Morgan content just to control the position here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Maquigregor has given up his back. Will we see Morgan going for some submissions?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maquigregor throws a right and a left that both miss.
Morgan attempts a counter takedown but Maquigregor avoids it well and moves away.

Morgan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Morgan content to control rather than advance.

Maquigregor is looking to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Maquigregor lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Morgan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Maquigregor's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morgan is pressing down on Maquigregor's thigh, looking to free his foot. Maquigregor is holding on for now.
Morgan content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Maquigregor is trying to maintain the position but Morgan is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Morgan stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Maquigregor throws a series of punches but Morgan moves out of range.

Tigey Maquigregor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Morgan drives through with a takedown into Maquigregor's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Morgan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Morgan wants to pass the guard but Maquigregor is keeping the position.

Maquigregor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A close second round but Tigey Maquigregor will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Morgan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Maquigregor quickly recovers to half guard.
Morgan is controlling the pace.
Maquigregor trying to control but Morgan postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maquigregor tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Morgan has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Morgan takes Maquigregor's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Maquigregor is in trouble.
Morgan really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Maquigregor.
Maquigregor is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Morgan off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
I really don't envy Maquigregor right now.
Morgan is not going to allow Maquigregor to sit and survive in this position.
Maquigregor is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Morgan.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maquigregor is trying to stand back up.
Morgan is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
You can see the frustration on Maquigregor's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Morgan trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Maquigregor doesn't escape.
Maquigregor wants to control his opponent's hands but Morgan gets his hands free.

Maquigregor is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Morgan keeps control of the position as Maquigregor tries to break free.

Virgil Morgan showed his dominance in that final round.
