PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kraig Macias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy McGee will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kraig Macias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy McGee!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee swats away the attempt to clinch by Macias.
Macias throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Macias takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Kraig Macias has been cut.
A looping hook to the body misses from McGee. Macias does a little dance to reset his feet.
Macias throws a big counter combination but McGee scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

McGee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Macias tries to buck McGee off but McGee is having none of it.
McGee sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Macias is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
McGee tries to move into full mount but can't pass Macias's legs.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

Macias lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

McGee wants to control from the top but Macias keeps moving.

Macias seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

McGee manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Macias manages to get himself to full guard.


McGee decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Macias, up you get!

Macias's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Macias seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

McGee has clasped his hands together around Macias's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Macias explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Macias enables McGee to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Macias manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kraig Macias.
I think Macias has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
