Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcio Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isamu Yamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez comes to the ring accompanied by Made in Brazil. Yamada has chosen Yoshida Brothers - Ibuki as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcio Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Isamu Yamada!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamada throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alvarez's waist but Alvarez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yamada off to one side.
Alvarez pivots, looking for a leg kick but Yamada is out of range and Alvarez settles back down.
Yamada tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Yamada closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alvarez circles away.
Alvarez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Alvarez throws a head kick but Yamada moves out of range.

Marcio Alvarez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isamu Yamada.

Yamada closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Alvarez's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Yamada drops back looking for a leg! Alvarez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Alvarez manages to kick Yamada off! Yamada jumps back into Alvarez's guard.

Alvarez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Yamada postures up in Alvarez's guard and throws a big left but Alvarez blocks it.

Yamada loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've been hearing good reports from Alvarez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

My spies in Bonsai Club MMA inform me that Yamada has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Yamada must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Alvarez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Yamada has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Yamada shoots for a double leg takedown but Alvarez sprawls well. He's pushed Yamada's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Yamada tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Alvarez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Alvarez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Yamada has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Yamada and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Alvarez waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Yamada. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Yamada to the canvas! Can he finish him!?


Yamada is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alvarez pushing down on Yamada's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Yamada is still in real trouble! Can Alvarez finish him?
Alvarez seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Alvarez is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Yamada!
Alvarez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Alvarez takes Yamada's back.
Alvarez has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Yamada's body.
Yamada seems to have recovered his senses.
More hug and hope from Alvarez.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Yamada shoots in looking for a takedown but Alvarez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Yamada's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Yamada's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Alvarez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
And Yamada tries to counter it with a takedown but Alvarez pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Yamada tries for a takedown but Alvarez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Alvarez buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Alvarez lands with a thumping leg kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yamada on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Yamada has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Alvarez.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Yamada crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Alvarez - the referee stops the clock and Yamada gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Alvarez. Yamada manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Yamada takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Alvarez works the jab nicely.
Alvarez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Yamada.

Alvarez tries to work over Yamada's front leg with a kick but Yamada checks it.

Yamada drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Alvarez defends it well.

Marcio Alvarez is winning the standup battle so far.
Alvarez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Yamada on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Alvarez. Alvarez obviously looking to wear him down.
Alvarez lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Yamada crumples to the floor! Alvarez milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Marcio Alvarez!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Marcio Alvarez waved his t-shirt featuring Sully's Bar & Grill's logo in front of the cameras.
