The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Gregory sneaks out the side door and pushes Macy away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Bruce Macy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Macy shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gregory manages to escape and get back to his feet!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Macy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gregory swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Macy lands a couple of elbows.

Gregory wants to sweep here but Macy controlling him for the moment.

Macy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Macy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A close round but Bruce Macy will probably get the nod.

That's time! Gregory's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Macy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gregory does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Werner Gregory overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Macy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gregory defends it well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Macy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gregory looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Macy lands an elbow.
Macy decides to stand back up. Macy steps back and let's Gregory get back to his feet.
Macy misses the jab.
Gregory pushes Macy up against the cage in a clinch.
Gregory gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Macy regains guard.
Gregory chips away with some ground and pound.

Gregory is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Macy is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Macy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gregory doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gregory manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gregory drops back looking for a leg! Macy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Macy manages to kick Gregory off! Gregory jumps back into Macy's guard.

Gregory got a little sloppy there for a moment and Macy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gregory has managed to get both his arms back between Macy's legs - danger averted.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gregory enables Macy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gregory manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Macy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Macy is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gregory can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

I think Macy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
