Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Everett Parrish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Davis!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parrish closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Davis pushes Parrish off and gets back to his feet.
Parrish misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Davis shoots in but Parrish avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Ryan Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Davis shoots in looking for a takedown. Parrish tries to sprawl out of it but Davis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Parrish manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Davis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Parrish walks away with a smile on his face. Davis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Parrish is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Parrish wanted to stand there but Davis had control of the position.

Parrish wants to get up but he can't break Davis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A looping hook to the body misses from Parrish. Davis does a little dance to reset his feet.
Davis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Parrish sprawls well. Parrish wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davis gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Parrish is controlling the pace.

Parrish is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Davis sees it coming and defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis is trying to control but Parrish manages to pass to mount!

Parrish goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Davis is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Parrish's guard.
Davis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Parrish keeps working.

Parrish is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Davis is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Davis thows a huge punch but Parrish dodges it nicely.
Davis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Parrish keeps working.

Parrish is positioning himself well to prevent Davis advancing to mount.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Davis shoots in looking for a takedown but Parrish manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Davis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Parrish was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Davis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parrish circles away.
Davis is breathing heavily.

Davis is fighting off a takedown attempt but Parrish is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Davis to the mat. Davis regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Davis is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Parrish dives into side control.

Parrish is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Davis will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Everett Parrish overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Parrish has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Parrish.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Parrish in particular looking to stall.
Parrish wants to stand up but Davis is controlling the position.
Parrish is taking a breather. Davis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Parrish has clasped his hands together around Davis's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Parrish stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Davis dives in for a single leg takedown but Parrish sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ryan Davis seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Parrish is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Davis is pressed up against the cage. Parrish has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Davis down to the mat. Davis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I think Davis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
