Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gracie Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lamont Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkins is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Wu-Tang Clan - C.R.E.A.M. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gracie Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 2, fighting out of New York, Lamont Hawkins!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins missing with a left hand there. Allen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
It looked like Allen wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Hawkins works the jab nicely.

Allen looks to land a left hand but Hawkins moved out of range nicely.

Lamont Hawkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hawkins uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Allen.
Allen throws a lazy right hand but Hawkins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Allen has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

As Hawkins tries to get set, Allen tries to push him back and clinch up but Hawkins manages to avoid the attempt.

Allen has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
