Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Camatta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toshi Matoshin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matoshin has chosen Mortal Kombat theme as his entrance music. Antonio Camatta has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Camatta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 41 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Toshi Matoshin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Camatta fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Matoshin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Matoshin.
Matoshin thows a left - swing and a miss!
Matoshin misses with a looping left.
A head kick misses from Matoshin.
Toshi Matoshin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matoshin getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


It looks like Antonio Camatta has been cut.
Camatta misses the shot to the body.
Matoshin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Matoshin takes a swing at Camatta's ribcage but misses.
Matoshin throws the left hand but Camatta avoids the punch easily.
We've been hearing reports that Camatta has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Matoshin feints and then cracks Camatta's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Camatta down.
Camatta ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Matoshin moves away.
Matoshin scores with a sloppy right hand. Camatta should have avoided that one.
Camatta throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Camatta throws a good cross that connects.

Matoshin flicks out a counter leg kick but Camatta steps away.
Matoshin changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Matoshin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Camatta.
Donk. Matoshin catches Camatta right on the button with a cross.
Matoshin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Camatta misses with an uppercut. Matoshin saw that one coming.
Matoshin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Camatta has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Camatta lands the left hand.
Matoshin misses with a straight right.

Nice jab there from Matoshin.
Camatta connects with a body shot that sends Matoshin's belly button to the back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd cheers as Matoshin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Camatta doesn't seem phased though.
Matoshin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Camatta was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Matoshin gets caught napping as Camatta dives in and scores a takedown. Matoshin manages to retain guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Camatta's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Camatta is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Camatta keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Matoshin's head.
Matoshin is pulling down on Camatta's head. It's preventing any offense from Camatta, at least for the moment.
Camatta has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Matoshin lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Camatta is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Camatta is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Camatta has his foot on Matoshin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matoshin works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's time! Camatta's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Nice shot lands for Matoshin.
Camatta throws a leg kick which misses Matoshin's front leg but catches the back leg as Matoshin tries to avoid it.
Matoshin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Matoshin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Matoshin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Matoshin appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Matoshin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Camatta moves away.
Matoshin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Camatta to score with a decent uppercut.
Matoshin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Camatta uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Matoshin.
Matoshin pivots, looking for a leg kick but Camatta is out of range and Matoshin settles back down.
Matoshin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Camatta at a distance.
Camatta looks to score with a jab to the body but Matoshin is just out of range.
Matoshin throws a low kick but it's checked well by Camatta.
A little feinted left hand from Camatta on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Matoshin cracks Camatta with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Camatta shoots in and bounces Matoshin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Matoshin holds on and takes a little breather.

Camatta wants to control from the top but Matoshin keeps moving.
Matoshin controls Camatta momentarily but Camatta frees himself.
Matoshin pulls Camatta in close to his closed guard and prevents Camatta from doing any damage or advancing position.
Antonio Camatta overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Camatta is fighting to break Matoshin's control of his arms but Matoshin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Camatta accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Camatta cracks Matoshin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Camatta closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Camatta is trying to control the action in half guard but Matoshin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Antonio Camatta showed his dominance in that final round.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Antonio Camatta misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
