Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jari Aarnio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arman Shaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aarnio comes into the arena with Ice Cube - Why We Thugs blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Shaker connects with a looping right hand.
Shaker scores with a nice strike.
Shaker throws a low kick, looking for Aarnio's leg but Aarnio calmly moves out of range.
Shaker misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Aarnio.
Shaker tries a low kick but Aarnio avoids it.
Aarnio tries to counter with a takedown but Shaker is quick to defend against it.
Shaker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shaker lands in his opponent's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aarnio avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Shaker throwing strikes from guard but Aarnio blocks nicely.
Aarnio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shaker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shaker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Shaker controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Aarnio is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Shaker has his hands clasped together but Aarnio extends and breaks Shaker's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Aarnio.

Jari Aarnio spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
