Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lamar Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoru Takada!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takada has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Allen finds it's way round the side to connect with Takada's head.
Allen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Takada avoids it really well and circles away.
Allen lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Allen has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The OHIO State in the buildup to the fight.
Allen throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Takada counters with a nice uppercut.
Allen looks for a takedown but Takada sprawls well.
Takada appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Allen attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Takada steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Allen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oh Allen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Takada moves out of range of the body kick from Allen.
Allen seems to have got his legs back now.
Allen scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Allen swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Takada cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Takada counters with a crisp right hand that drops Allen! Takada lets Allen back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Takada swings wildly with an uppercut but Allen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Takada throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Takada tries a body shot but Allen blocks it.
Allen fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Allen is trying to drag Takada to the mat but Takada just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Takada is leaning against Allen and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Takada swings wildly with an uppercut but Allen uses good head movement to avoid it.

Takada tries to work over Allen's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Despite the aggression on Takada's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Allen lands a leg kick that knocks Takada off balance momentarily.

Allen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Takada uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Allen.

Takada throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Allen.

Allen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Takada defends well and Allen ends up having to push Takada into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Takada might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Allen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Takada doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Allen is tightening it up a little... Takada has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Takada reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Takada taps out! Nice BJJ there by Allen!
