Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared Mauck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ambitionz Az A Ridah. Jared Mauck has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
James will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mauck throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Mauck holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mauck should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Mauck's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

You get the feeling that James really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Mauck takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

James is pressed up against the cage. Mauck has hold of a leg and is looking to drag James down to the mat. James avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Mauck dives in for a single leg takedown but James sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Horrible takedown attempt by Mauck or perhaps it was just good defense by James, which made it look bad.

Mauck jumps guard and drags James to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jason James will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mauck has hold of James's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! James tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Mauck cranks the arm and James screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from James, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
