Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carlos Powers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Abner Seropane!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Seropane closes the distance and clinches.
Seropane stalling against the cage.
Powers dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Seropane manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Seropane managing to control the position.
Seropane working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Powers.
Seropane has control of Powers's left arm, preventing Powers from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Seropane bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Powers's guard.

Seropane controls from within his opponent's guard.
Powers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Seropane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Seropane is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Seropane trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Seropane keeps trying to improve his position.

Powers throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Seropane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Seropane trying to control the position from guard on top but Powers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Seropane with a flurry of punches that miss.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Seropane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Powers's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Powers can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Seropane controls the pace.

Seropane wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Powers's closed guard. He's half up but Powers has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Powers pivots and extends the arm, Seropane falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Powers! Well done that man!
