Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skeng Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Therion - Sitra Ahra. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man scores with a decent looking hook.
Man has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Smith is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Man shoots in looking for a takedown but Smith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Man's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Man rushes Smith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Smith gets underhooks to prevent Man's takedown attempt.
Man drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Smith gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Man jumps guard but Smith turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Man shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Man keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Man tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Smith throws a lazy right hand but Man sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Man closes the distance and pushes Smith back into the cage.
Nice body punch from Smith - that landed with a thud.
Man is trying to pull guard but Smith turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Smith.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Man jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smith walks away with a smile on his face. Man gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Smith misses with a head kick.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Man! But no joy.

Man looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Man postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Smith pulls Man in close to prevent any damage.
Smith might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Smith trying to keep a closed guard but Man is proving a slippery customer.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Man throws an elbow that misses. Smith uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Man's guard. Nice move by Smith!

Man is looking for a triangle but Smith pushes his legs off easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
