The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bowen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bowen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Arbuckle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bowen tries to clinch up but Arbuckle circles away and keeps his distance.

It looks like Roger Arbuckle has been cut.

and Arbuckle moves into the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bowen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Arbuckle tries to counter with a takedown but Bowen is quick to defend against it.
Bowen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Arbuckle paws at him with a jab and circles away.
It looked like Arbuckle wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bowen wants to clinch
and Arbuckle counters with a right hand to the body.

Bowen moves in looking to clinch but Arbuckle pushes him off.
Arbuckle is looking for a counter combo.
Bowen tries to close the distance and clinch but Arbuckle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
As Bowen tries to get set, Arbuckle tries to push him back and clinch up but Bowen manages to avoid the attempt.

Arbuckle shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Arbuckle lands with a punch from half guard.
Arbuckle is stalling here. Bowen is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Arbuckle seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bowen has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Arbuckle is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bowen off and has taken his back!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Arbuckle lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Arbuckle.
Arbuckle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That has opened up Makebono Bowen's cut even more.
Arbuckle cracks Bowen with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Bowen from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Makebono Bowen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
