Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Leary!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Filibert Koopman!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leary tries to clinch there but Koopman circles away.
Koopman throws a hook to the side of Leary's head but Leary sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Leary slips under a jab from Koopman.

Koopman gets tackled into the cage by Leary. Leary maintains the clinch.
Leary tries to pull guard but Koopman forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Koopman's coach down at Kung Fu Fighting Club ($299 entry fee) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Koopman's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Koopman has had enough of the clinch but Leary keeps him there for the moment.

Koopman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Koopman jabs Leary to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Leary slips under a jab from Koopman.
Koopman scores with a nice head shot.
Leary doesn't manage to clinch there - Koopman circles away.
Koopman misses with a hook.
Koopman swats away the attempt to clinch by Leary.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leary moves away from the strike by Koopman.
Leary tries to clinch but Koopman moves out of range.
A swing and a miss from Koopman.
Koopman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Leary tries to close the distance and clinch up but Koopman swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Leary takes the fight into the clinch.
Leary is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Koopman to keep the fight standing.
Leary tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Koopman smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Leary. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Koopman throws a body shot but no joy.
Koopman jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Leary fails in his attempt to clinch.
Chris Leary seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leary defending well as Koopman loads up on a big left hand.
Leary doesn't manage to clinch there - Koopman circles away.
It seemed like Koopman was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Leary ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Leary avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Koopman throws a right and a left that Leary avoids nicely.
Koopman thuds a left hand into Leary's body.
Koopman might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Koopman looks to throw the jab but Leary is out of range.
Leary wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Koopman throws the left hand but Leary avoids the punch easily.

Leary dodges the punch combination from Koopman.
Koopman circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Leary tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Koopman wants to get back to striking at distance but Leary won't allow it.

Koopman tries to free his leg and advance position but Leary is retaining full guard.
Koopman wants to control from the top but Leary keeps moving.
Leary is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Leary is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Koopman frees his head nicely. Oh but Leary has switched to an armbar! Koopman is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Chris Leary bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
