PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timothy Sete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dylan Joseph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Timothy Sete!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sete gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sete tries to circle away but Joseph has him pinned against the cage.

Sete is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Joseph can't fight it off and eventually Sete manages to take the fight to the floor. Joseph looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Joseph pushes Sete off and gets back to his feet.

Timothy Sete seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Joseph wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Joseph shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Joseph showed some decent athleticism there.
Sete is looking for a sweep. Joseph is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Joseph got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sete has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Joseph has managed to get both his arms back between Sete's legs - danger averted.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Sete escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Joseph gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dylan Joseph will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Sete is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dylan Joseph.
Well Joseph has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
