Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rod Langley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michio Okada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Okada has chosen Sir Hiss - Frosty as his entrance music. Rod Langley has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rod Langley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michio Okada!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Okada closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Okada lands in his opponent's guard.

Okada avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Langley looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Okada looking to pass the guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Okada stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Okada scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Okada really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Langley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Langley being controlled for a moment.
Langley gets back to half guard.
Langley wants to get back to his feet.
Okada slows the pace down in half guard.
Langley tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Okada tries to pass to full mount but Langley defends it.
Langley has hold of Okada's hands but Okada slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Still in half guard, Okada seems content to control.
Okada winds up and cracks Langley with a swinging punch to the side of the head.


Langley is rocked!
Okada is looking to advance position but Langley won't allow it.
Oh Langley is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Okada takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Langley seems to have got his legs back now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Langley is looking to improve his position.
Okada performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Okada is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Langley gets back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Okada wants to get up but he can't break Langley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Langley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Langley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Okada gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Okada engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Okada landing with the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michio Okada dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Okada moves into the clinch.

Okada pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Langley fails with the takedown

and Okada moves into the clinch.
Langley takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Rod Langley has been cut.

Okada lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Okada is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Langley defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Langley is looking to control Okada's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Langley avoid being mounted?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Okada tries to pass the half guard into mount. Langley knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Okada takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Okada scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Okada lands a big elbow - Langley is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Okada!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michio Okada!
