PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anton Ellison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anton Ellison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Royce Silva!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva darts in and clinches Ellison up against the cage.

Silva manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva wants to sweep but no luck.
Ellison wants to stand but Silva is controlling his posture from full guard.
Ellison knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Silva wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ellison really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ellison will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ellison won't allow Silva to sweep him here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Silva scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Ellison bucks up and tries to throw Silva off but instead Silva has got his back!
Ellison is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Silva punches Ellison on the ear.
Silva has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ellison's body.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ellison is trying to get back to his feet but Silva has full control of the position and if anything, Ellison has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Silva is riding his opponent, not letting Ellison buck him off.
Silva lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ellison turns into Silva and is now in his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva has his foot on Ellison's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ellison works his way back into a safe position though.
Silva has control of Ellison's left arm, preventing Ellison from doing any damage.

Silva is looking to cinch up a triangle. Ellison throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Silva's body to avoid the submission. Silva has instead reached around Ellison's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Silva arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
