Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leroy Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leroy Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Head manages to avoid it.
Head looks to land a combination but Griffin avoids it well.

Head drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Griffin is trying to get back to his feet.
Griffin gets back to half guard.
Griffin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Griffin.
Head prevents Griffin from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griffin has his hands on Head's head, controlling the position.
Head throwing strikes from guard but Griffin blocks nicely.
Head has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As Griffin looks to move away, Head throws a big counter combo but Griffin just gets out of the way.
Head really is a fat lump.
Head digs a good hook to Griffin's body.

Griffin gets a clinch.
Griffin blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Griffin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Head to keep the fight standing.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Head using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Griffin has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Griffin is trying to break the clinch but Head has him pressed against the cage.
Griffin has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Head after a bit of a struggle.
Leroy Head has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Griffin.
Head jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Griffin walks away with a smile on his face. Head gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Griffin fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Head checks it well.
Head throws a big counter combination but Griffin scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Head makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
No luck for Griffin with that takedown attempt.
Griffin shoots for a double leg takedown but Head sprawls well. He's pushed Griffin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Head changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Griffin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close round but I would say that Leroy Head will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Head counters with a nice body shot.
Griffin closes the distance and clinches up with Head, looking for a takedown. Griffin pushes Head against the cage but Head circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Head shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Head wants to free his trapped foot but Griffin is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Head is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Griffin can do to turn this around?
Griffin is breathing heavily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Griffin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Griffin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Head sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Griffin somewhat.

The referee asks Griffin politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Griffin prefers to stall for the moment though.
Head is not content to let Griffin control the position.
Head is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Griffin asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Head tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Griffin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Leroy Head overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Head is looking to get to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Head is trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Leroy Head will probably get the nod.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Head with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Head is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Griffin is defending well for now.

Ryan Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Griffin dives in and grabs Head's left leg, looking for a takedown. Head pushes down on Griffin's head and hops out.
Leroy Head is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Griffin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Head appears to be looking for a big counter.

Ryan Griffin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Head has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
