The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalskii shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Acosta's guard.
Acosta is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kovalskii thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kovalskii drops back looking for a leg! Acosta is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Acosta manages to kick Kovalskii off! Kovalskii jumps back into Acosta's guard.
Acosta tries to strike from the bottom.
Acosta really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kovalskii drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Kovalskii as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Acosta screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Kovalskii! Nice submission victory there!
