Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilmer Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jakub Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wilmer Walter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jakub Andersen!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andersen shoots and misses
and Walter counters with a left and a right that stings Andersen.

Andersen takes the fight into the clinch.

Walter has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Andersen uses from the top position.
Andersen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Andersen wants to stand but Walter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Walter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Walter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Walter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Andersen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Walter has momentary wrist control but Andersen slips an elbow through the middle.
Andersen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Walter's head.

Andersen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Andersen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Walter wants to control but Andersen passes easily into half guard.
Andersen slips a nice elbow through Walter's hands, connecting with Walter's forehead.

Andersen has control of Walter's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Walter regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Walter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Andersen looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Walter wants to control but Andersen is having none of it.

Walter tries to control Andersen's body but Andersen pushes him off. Walter squirms to his side and now Andersen has his back!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Andersen is persistently looking for the submission but Walter is defending it well.

Andersen lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Walter is trying to break free.

Andersen slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Walter tries to escape but Andersen has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Andersen is looking for the choke from the back position but Walter is controlling his hands well.

Walter wants to get back to his feet.
Andersen looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Andersen controlling well, preventing Walter from escaping the position.
What can Walter do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Jakub Andersen dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Andersen has closed the distance and engaged Walter in a clinch.
Walter wants to get back to striking at distance but Andersen won't allow it.

The fighters circle momentarily. Walter darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Andersen.
Walter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Andersen.
Jakub Andersen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Andersen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walter tries to avoid it but Andersen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walter to the ground. Walter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Walter counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Andersen thinking.
Wilmer Walter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jakub Andersen.
Walter lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Walter tries to close the distance and clinch but Andersen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Andersen gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Andersen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Walter gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Walter jumps guard but Andersen stands there with Walter around his waist. Walter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Andersen. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Andersen is looking for a takedown.

Andersen tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Walter just stands there and leans against the cage.
Walter is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Andersen effectively controlling the action here.

Andersen jumps guard.
Andersen is breathing heavily.

Andersen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Andersen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Walter postures up.

Walter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Andersen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Walter is looking to stand up but Andersen won't let him.
Andersen is trying to keep Walter in close.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Walter feints and as Andersen raises his hands in defense, Walter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Andersen stuffs the takedown attempt from Walter. Walter gets slowly back to his feet.
Andersen shoots in for a double leg but Walter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Walter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walter is on top in guard.

Andersen wants to sweep but no luck.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Andersen can do anything to dispel that myth.
Andersen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Andersen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilmer Walter dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Andersen clobbers Walter with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Walter throws a nice outside leg kick.
Andersen shoots in looking for a takedown but Walter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Andersen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Andersen has Walter pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Andersen pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Walter tumbling to the mat - Andersen dives into Walter's guard.

Walter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Andersen's guard.

Walter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Walter wants to control from the top but Andersen keeps moving.
Walter prevents Andersen from getting back to his feet.
Andersen pulls Walter in close to prevent any damage.
Andersen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walter's guard.

Andersen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Andersen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Walter's guard.
Andersen working over Walter with some ground and pound. Walter looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Andersen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Andersen works his way into side control.

Andersen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Walter looks calm but he's in trouble here. Andersen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Walter is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Andersen lets go of the hold and Walter can pop his arm back in it's socket.
