Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sydney Bender!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Godric Dunstan!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Dunstan throws a head kick that half lands.
Bender is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Dunstan clinches with his opponent.

Dunstan has Bender pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dunstan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bender tumbling to the mat - Dunstan dives into Bender's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bender being controlled here, momentarily.
It looks like Dunstan might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Bender working a defensive guard but Dunstan manages to pass into side control anyway.
Dunstan tries to move to full mount but Bender actually manages to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dunstan trying to mount his opponent but Bender defends it.
Dunstan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bender!
Dunstan tries to control but Bender wriggling away.

Bender defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Dunstan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dunstan working for a submission but Bender is keeping him at bay.

Dunstan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bender manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Dunstan tries to move to mount but Bender blocks the move with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dunstan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bender, who protects the arm well.

Bender is being controlled here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dunstan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Dunstan tries to move into full mount but can't pass Bender's legs.
Dunstan wants to control but Bender is keeping him busy.
Dunstan staying calm.
More stalling from Dunstan.
Bender really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bender gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The referee warns Bender that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dunstan landing strikes from the mount.
Dunstan controlling his opponent.
Bender is just holding on here. Dunstan manages to take his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Godric Dunstan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dunstan throws the left hand but Bender avoids the punch easily.
Bender seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Bender looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dunstan is fending him off so far but Bender persists. Nope, Dunstan circles away and we're back to standing.
Dunstan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bender throws a big counter combination but Dunstan scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Bender tries to sprawl but Dunstan drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bender is defending against the submission attempts here by Dunstan.
Dunstan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dunstan tries to pass to full mount but Bender defends it.

Dunstan trying to control from Bender's half guard. Bender has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Godric Dunstan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dunstan pushes down on Bender's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dunstan is pressing down on Bender's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bender is holding on for now.

Dunstan maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Bender could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Dunstan has cracked it and Bender is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Dunstan!
