Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Craig Stephens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Belliveau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stephens comes to the cage accompanied by Renegade by (hed)PE. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Belliveau!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Steve Erwin and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belliveau keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Our sources have told us that Stephens has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Stephens wants to get back to his feet but Belliveau is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We've been informed that Belliveau has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Mark Belliveau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stephens tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Belliveau changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Belliveau shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stephens defends it nicely.

Belliveau is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Stephens can't fight it off and eventually Belliveau manages to take the fight to the floor. Stephens looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Stephens manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Stephens is trying to break the clinch but Belliveau is controlling him.
Belliveau goes for a takedown in the clinch but Stephens prevents it.
Craig Stephens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Belliveau.
Stephens wants to get back to striking at distance but Belliveau won't allow it.
Stephens wants to break free but Belliveau has control.

and Stephens counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Belliveau shoots in for a takedown but Stephens shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

A head kick from Stephens lands but Belliveau takes it in his stride.

Belliveau looks for a takedown but Stephens sprawls well.

Belliveau lands a two punch combo.
Stephens misses with a wild body shot.
Belliveau dives in and grabs Stephens's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stephens pushes down on Belliveau's head and hops out.
Stephens changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Stephens looks to throw the jab but Belliveau is out of range.
Belliveau misses with a takedown attempt - Stephens sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Stephens leaves Belliveau with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Belliveau looks winded!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Belliveau tries to clinch but Stephens moves out of range.

Belliveau wants to clinch but Stephens slips to the side

and Stephens counters with a crisp right hand that drops Belliveau! Stephens lets Belliveau back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Belliveau is rocked!

Belliveau walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Stephens! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Craig Stephens!
A relieved looking Craig Stephens thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
