Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Newton Salas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harvey Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newton Salas has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Newton Salas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harvey Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Salas, pushing him back against the cage.
Salas jumps guard but Wilson stands there with Salas around his waist. Salas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Wilson gets control of Salas's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wilson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Salas lands a couple of elbows.
Wilson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Salas's guard.

Wilson content to stall in guard here.
Salas wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Salas is on top in guard.

Salas is looking to stand up but Wilson won't let him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wilson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Salas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Salas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wilson wants to sweep here but Salas controlling him for the moment.

Wilson has control of Salas's left arm, preventing Salas from doing any damage.

Salas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Wilson has an active guard here but Salas has managed to pass into half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wilson is pressing down on Salas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Salas would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Wilson wants to stand and escape but Salas is having none of it.
Wilson throws a nice elbow from the bottom.
Salas throws a big right hand that misses.
Salas lands a couple of elbows.

Wilson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Salas could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Salas won't allow Wilson to sweep him here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Wilson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Salas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Salas takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Salas is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Wilson off and has taken his back!

Wilson rolls, trying to escape but Salas keeps control of the position.

Salas not allowing Wilson to control his hands.
Salas doesn't have the hooks in and Wilson manages to turn into his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wilson lands a couple of elbows.

Salas working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Wilson has passed into half guard!
Salas is breathing heavily.
Wilson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Salas with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wilson blocks the strikes from Salas.
Wilson wants to take a breather but Salas is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harvey Wilson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Wilson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Salas is now in half guard.
Wilson looks like he's trying to stand up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson is looking to control Salas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wilson avoid being mounted?

Wilson is trying to stand.
Wilson tries to get to full guard but Salas has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wilson wants to control but Salas is keeping busy.
Wilson is trying to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Sloppy strikes from Salas. Those never looked like landing.
Salas misses with a two punch combination.

Wilson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Salas on his heels. He'll look to pass Salas's guard now, I'm sure.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wilson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Salas's head.
Wilson pushes down on Salas's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Wilson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Salas regains full guard. Nicely done.
Wilson wants to control from the top but Salas keeps moving.
Salas throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Salas is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wilson is aware though and is defending well.
Wilson is pushing down on Salas's leg trying to pass to half guard. Salas is fighting to maintain full guard but Wilson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Wilson is working for a kimura but Salas is defending it quite comfortably.

Wilson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Salas sees it coming and defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Wilson in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Salas tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Wilson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Harvey Wilson!
