Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zachariah Sutton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zachariah Sutton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kevin Parker!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ben Watson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sutton clinches up with Parker and pushes him back against the cage.
Parker manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Parker has Sutton pushed against the cage.
Parker continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Parker misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sutton.

Parker is trying to trip Sutton. He has hold of a leg but Sutton is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Parker persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sutton wants to stand but Parker is controlling the position.
Parker not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Sutton wants to get back to his feet but Parker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Sutton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sutton has Parker pulled in close to control his posture.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Parker scores with a jab to the body.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Parker has managed to clinch.

Parker manages to break the clinch.
Parker fails with the takedown.
It looked like Sutton was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Parker pushes Sutton away with a front kick.

Parker cracks Sutton with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Sutton looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Parker finish him?


Sutton is rocked!


It looks like Zachariah Sutton has been cut.

Sutton has closed the distance and engaged Parker in a clinch.
Oh Sutton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Parker pulls guard effortlessly.

Parker looking for a guillotine here but Sutton defends easily.

Parker is working an open guard so Sutton takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Kevin Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Parker moves into the clinch successfully.

Parker gets control of Sutton's arms and successfully pulls guard. Parker will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Sutton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sutton seems to have got his legs back now.

Parker is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Parker slows down the pace here.
Parker jumps guard but Sutton turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Sutton is trying to break the clinch but Parker has him pressed against the cage.
Sutton is looking to break free of the clinch but Parker has double underhooks.
Parker is pressed up against the cage. Sutton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Parker down to the mat. Parker avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Parker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sutton.

Parker fails with the takedown.
Zachariah Sutton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Parker.
Sutton moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parker can do anything to dispel that myth.
Parker wants to sweep but no luck.
Parker is trying to control the position but Sutton postures up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Parker dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Zachariah Sutton's cut.
That's time! Sutton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A punch combination from Parker misses.
Sutton feinted with a counter takedown.
Parker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sutton tries to avoid it but Parker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sutton to the ground. Sutton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Parker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sutton moves away.
Parker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Sutton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sutton controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Sutton stands and steps away. Parker gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Parker counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Sutton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Parker wants to control from the top but Sutton keeps moving.

Parker trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Sutton manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sutton is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Parker has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Parker keeping moving, preventing Sutton from controlling successfully.

Sutton gets to his feet - Parker follows without any prompting.

Parker pushes Sutton up against the cage in a clinch.
Sutton fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Nice body punch from Parker.
Sutton fails to pull guard.
Parker is looking for a takedown.

Sutton tries to pull guard but Parker won't allow it.
Parker drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sutton wants a takedown but no success here.

Sutton wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Parker has him pressed against the cage.

Parker tries to free his leg and advance position but Sutton is retaining full guard.

Parker drops back looking for a leg! Sutton is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sutton manages to kick Parker off! Parker jumps back into Sutton's guard.
Parker passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Sutton gets back to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Parker in particular looking to stall.
Parker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sutton is positioning himself well to prevent Parker advancing to mount.
Sutton trying to control but Parker postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Kevin Parker will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Sutton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Parker paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Parker tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sutton sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Parker somewhat.
Nice takedown defense from Parker. No joy for Sutton on that attempt.
Sutton wants to clinch up but Parker keeps it at a distance.
Sutton throws a sloppy head kick and Parker moves out of range easily.

Parker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Parker showed some decent athleticism there.

Sutton kicks Parker off and gets back to his feet.

Parker goes for a double leg but Sutton avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sutton continues to drive forward.

Parker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sutton bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Parker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sutton defends it nicely.

Sutton takes the fight into the clinch.
Sutton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Parker smiles and moves away.

Parker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Parker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Parker looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Parker goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Sutton rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Parker's guard! Nice work there by Sutton!
Sutton wants to stand but Parker is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Parker can't keep his opponent in guard - Sutton advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Parker is trying to stand.
Sutton wants to take a breather but Parker is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sutton decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Zachariah Sutton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kevin Parker is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Nice body kick from Parker.

And that's the end of the fight!
Zachariah Sutton showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Parker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
