Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Head Coach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josiah Bartlet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Bartlet's choice of entrance music: The Clash - Police And Thieves. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Josiah Bartlet enters the cage!

With a record of 27 - 17 - 3, fighting out of London, Josiah Bartlet!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bartlet throws a leg kick but Coach sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Coach takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Coach connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bartlet. Bartlet circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Bartlet swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bartlet tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Coach is able to avoid easily.
Bartlet gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Coach.
Bartlet blocks a head kick by Coach.
Bartlet lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Bartlet wants to clinch up but Coach keeps it at a distance.
Bartlet walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Coach checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bartlet!


It looks like Head Coach has been cut.
Bartlet misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Bartlet moves into range and clinches up with Coach.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bartlet pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Bartlet tries to throw a body punch but Coach avoids it by throwing Bartlet back against the cage.

Coach fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bartlet looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Coach lands a good knee to the midsection. Bartlet won't want to take too many of those.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Coach digs a right hand into Bartlet's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bartlet's gas tank.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bartlet has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Head Coach will probably get the nod.

Bartlet takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Coach takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Josiah Bartlet seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Coach takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Coach lands a jab to Bartlet's midsection.
Bartlet lands with a nice combination. Coach backs away looking to recover.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Bartlet lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Coach has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Coach and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
