Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samoa Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Woody Normus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe comes to the cage accompanied by Destroyer. Samoa Joe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joe shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Normus's guard.

Joe got a little sloppy there for a moment and Normus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Joe has managed to get both his arms back between Normus's legs - danger averted.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Joe's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Joe lands a couple of digs.
Joe chips away with some ground and pound.
Joe postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Normus can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Joe controls the pace.
Joe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Joe keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Normus's head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Joe is on top in guard.

Normus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Joe lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Joe distracts Normus with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Joe is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Normus pushes Joe off and scrambles back to his feet.

Joe shoots in and bounces Normus off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Normus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Joe is aware though and is defending well.

We've been hearing that Joe has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Joe is nestled in close to Normus, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
