Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Mr Ward and Kazuka Fuujin. Fuujin has chosen his shirt says "bout to smack the stepchild out you" as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 4 losses; Mr Ward! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 9 losses; Kazuka Fuujin!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Ward shoots in looking for a takedown. Fuujin tries to sprawl out of it but Ward keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fuujin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fuujin or perhaps it was just good defense by Ward, which made it look bad.

Ward tries to roll over but Fuujin keeps him under control.
Fuujin is taking a breather. Ward says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Ward has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Fuujin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ward escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fuujin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ward manages to work his way to half guard, despite Fuujin's best efforts.

Fuujin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ward swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ward has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Ward has his foot on Fuujin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fuujin works his way back into a safe position though.

Fuujin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
