Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between DJ Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Pratchett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, DJ Boom!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Luke Pratchett!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pratchett wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Pratchett walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Boom comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Pratchett looks for the body kick but Boom saw that one coming.
Pratchett ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
We've been told by Boom's head coaches at The Beast that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Pratchett swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pratchett throws an overhand right that lands on Boom's shoulder, as Boom tries to avoid the shot.
Boom takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The crowd cheers as Pratchett lands an impressive looking overhand right. Boom doesn't seem phased though.
Pratchett lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Pratchett moves away from the strike by Boom.
A little jabbing left from Pratchett on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pratchett misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Boom connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

DJ Boom is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pratchett uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boom.

Pratchett has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Boom has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Boom there as he acknowledges the shot.

Boom swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Boom scores with a hook to the body. Pratchett takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pratchett! But no joy.
Pratchett dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Boom. That did some damage!

Oooooh!!! Boom has knocked Pratchett down with a huge combo! Boom steps away and waves a wobbly Pratchett back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Boom is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Pratchett seems to have recovered his senses.
Boom is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pratchett pushes down on Boom's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Boom on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boom won't allow Pratchett to pass to mount.
Pratchett looks to land a strike but Boom avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Boom is trying to control the position but Pratchett postures up.
Pratchett throws an elbow that misses. Boom uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pratchett's guard. Nice move by Boom!

That was a close round but I would say that DJ Boom will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Pratchett shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Pratchett was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Boom wants to control but Pratchett is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Boom has his hands clasped together around Pratchett's back. He's all about the action.
Boom is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pratchett's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pratchett's back!
Boom slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Boom got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pratchett has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boom has managed to get both his arms back between Pratchett's legs - danger averted.

Luke Pratchett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Boom's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Boom will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That was a close round but DJ Boom did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that DJ Boom will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Pratchett feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Booms jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
