PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Creon Koskos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atlantis Lemurian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Creon Koskos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Atlantis Lemurian!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koskos jabs Lemurian right on the nose. Lemurian blinks but takes it well.
Koskos looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Lemurian scores with a takedown into Koskos's guard.
Lemurian trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Koskos preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lemurian trying to control the position from guard on top but Koskos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Koskos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lemurian's guard.

Lemurian is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Koskos wants to control from the top but Lemurian keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lemurian has control of Koskos's left arm, preventing Koskos from doing any damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Koskos wants to pass the guard but Lemurian is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Koskos shoots in looking for a takedown but Lemurian manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Koskos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lemurian looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Lemurian takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Koskos thuds a left hand into Lemurian's body.

Lemurian drives through and clinches with Koskos against the cage.
Lemurian pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Lemurian slowing the pace effectively.
Koskos's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Lemurian working aggressively here.
Koskos takes a shot to the head.
Koskos is trying to break the clinch but Lemurian is controlling him.

Koskos tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Lemurian controlling the action here for a moment.
Koskos misses with a body punch.
Lemurian tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Koskos tries a body shot but Lemurian blocks it.
Koskos misses with a short punch on the inside.
Lemurian stalling in the clinch.
Nice body punch from Koskos - that landed with a thud.

Lemurian turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Lemurian tries for a kimura but Koskos is defending well.
Koskos tries to improve position but can't.
Koskos manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Lemurian blocking the ground and pound attempt from Koskos.
Koskos passes to full mount!
Koskos trying to control but Lemurian is having none of it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lemurian looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Koskos avoids the attempt from Lemurian to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Atlantis Lemurian will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Lemurian has managed to clinch.
Koskos is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lemurian gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Koskos tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lemurian's elbow.
Lemurian is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lemurian gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Lemurian trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Koskos is controlling Lemurian's posture.

Lemurian looking to hit a scissor sweep but Koskos is one step ahead there.

Koskos engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Lemurian has his hands on Koskos's head, controlling the position.
Koskos stays in close to Lemurian's body and controls the position.
Lemurian has control of Koskos's left arm, preventing Koskos from doing any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Koskos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lemurian is keeping the position for now.
Koskos looking to sit in guard and control but Lemurian gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Atlantis Lemurian has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lemurian is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Koskos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lemurian accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lemurian passes Koskos's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Lemurian throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Koskos tries to roll over but Lemurian keeps him under control.

Lemurian is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lemurian tries to pass to full mount but Koskos defends it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lemurian shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lemurian is fighting to break Koskos's control of his arms but Koskos is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Lemurian tries to free his leg and advance position but Koskos is retaining full guard.
Koskos wants to sweep but no luck.
Lemurian must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Lemurian has gone for a leg lock! Koskos slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lemurian's guard.

Koskos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lemurian swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Atlantis Lemurian showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Koskos comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Lemurian fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Koskos, pushing him back against the cage.

Koskos misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Lemurian throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Koskos misses with a hook from the clinch.
Lemurian with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Lemurian dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Koskos can't find room to land a body shot as Lemurian controls the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lemurian works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Lemurian turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lemurian manages to end up in side control.
Koskos tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lemurian wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Koskos is trying to control Lemurian's posture but Lemurian avoids it.

Lemurian is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Koskos is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Koskos is looking to regain half guard here but Lemurian keeps moving and retains side control.

Lemurian tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Lemurian thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Lemurian tries to score with some ground and pound. Koskos controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Creon Koskos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Koskos struggling a bit here.
Lemurian tries to score with some ground and pound. Koskos controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Lemurian fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Koskos is trying to get back to half guard.

Lemurian has hold of Koskos's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Koskos tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Lemurian cranks the arm and Koskos screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Koskos, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Atlantis Lemurian!
Atlantis Lemurian decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
