Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raphael Mendoza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dadhri Senchai!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendoza shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mendoza was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mendoza throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Mendoza tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mendoza has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Senchai is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Senchai tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mendoza wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Mendoza decides to stand up, so the ref orders Senchai to his feet.
Senchai tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Mendoza looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A head kick misses from Senchai.

Senchai fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mendoza, pushing him back against the cage.
Mendoza has had enough of the clinch but Senchai keeps him there for the moment.
Mendoza jumps guard but Senchai stands there with Mendoza around his waist. Mendoza gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Senchai wants to break free but Mendoza has control.
A nice right hand lands inside from Senchai.
Senchai lands a nice uppercut.
Mendoza jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Senchai walks away with a smile on his face. Mendoza gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raphael Mendoza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mendoza swats away the attempt to clinch by Senchai.
Senchai moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Mendoza closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mendoza is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Senchai's shoulder. That is not cool.
Senchai is trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mendoza passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Senchai!

The referee warns Senchai that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Senchai is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Senchai really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mendoza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mendoza throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Senchai has his hands clasped together but Mendoza breaks the hold and Senchai is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Mendoza!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Raphael Mendoza!
