Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Herbert Larson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaylan Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jaylan Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coleman gets a takedown into half guard.
Larson wants to control but Coleman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Larson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Coleman is looking to take a break and control but Larson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Coleman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Larson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Coleman is keen to just control but Larson is a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Larson throws Coleman to one side and escapes!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Coleman connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Larson momentarily.
Coleman buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Larson has closed the distance and engaged Coleman in a clinch.
Larson wants to get back to striking at distance but Coleman won't allow it.

Coleman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Coleman has Larson up against the cage in a clinch.

Coleman manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Larson throws a big right hand that misses.
Larson tries to free his leg and advance position but Coleman is retaining full guard.

Coleman is looking for a triangle but Larson pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Larson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Coleman, up you get!
Coleman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Larson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Larson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Larson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Coleman has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Larson but great work by Coleman.

Coleman decides to stand back up. Coleman steps back and let's Larson get back to his feet.

Coleman gets caught flat footed, as Larson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Coleman is wriggling around but Larson manages to pass to half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Coleman is looking for a sweep. Larson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Larson stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Coleman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Larson's guard.

Coleman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A close round but Jaylan Coleman will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A low kick from Coleman is predictable there

so Larson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Larson wanted to stand there but Coleman had control of the position.

Larson stands up from Coleman's guard - Larson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Coleman throws a right hand that Larson ducks under and follows up with a left that Larson also avoids with ease.
Coleman tries a head kick but it misses.
Larson is looking for a counter combo.

Coleman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Coleman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Larson controls Coleman momentarily but Coleman frees himself.

Larson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Coleman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Larson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Coleman defends well.

Herbert Larson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Coleman has closed the distance and engaged Larson in a clinch.
Larson takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Herbert Larson has been cut.
Coleman misses with a punch to the body.
Coleman connects with a knee to the head.

Coleman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Larson can't fight it off and eventually Coleman manages to take the fight to the floor. Larson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Larson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Coleman has picked Larson up and slammed him! Larson can't keep hold of the triangle and Coleman manages to pass to side control!

Jaylan Coleman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Larson takes a kick to the side of the head.

Coleman instigates a clinch.

Coleman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Larson throws a hook to the side of Coleman's head but Coleman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Coleman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Larson is trying to pull guard but Coleman turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Coleman takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Larson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Coleman, up you get!

Larson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Coleman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Coleman closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Larson did well to prevent Coleman getting side control.
Coleman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Coleman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Larson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Herbert Larson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jaylan Coleman is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Coleman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Larson quickly recovers to half guard.

Well Coleman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
