Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Frazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Trenchard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nigel Frazier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Trenchard!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Trenchard with that takedown attempt.
A head kick misses from Trenchard.

and Frazier counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Nigel Frazier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Trenchard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trenchard tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Frazier defends well and Trenchard ends up having to push Frazier into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Frazier is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Trenchard can't fight it off and eventually Frazier manages to take the fight to the floor. Trenchard looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Frazier moves into range and clinches up with Trenchard.
Trenchard stalling in the clinch but Frazier improves position.
Trenchard pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Frazier is working for takedown but Trenchard is calmly controlling the position for now.
Frazier is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Trenchard gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Trenchard wants to stand but Frazier is controlling his posture from full guard.
Frazier is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Trenchard wants to get up but he can't break Frazier's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frazier manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Trenchard manages to get himself to full guard.

Trenchard is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Frazier is controlling him.
Frazier will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Frazier is in close to Trenchard's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Trenchard is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Nigel Frazier will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looked like Frazier wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Trenchard dives in for a single leg takedown but Frazier sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Frazier is rocked!


It looks like Nigel Frazier has been cut.
Frazier tries to clinch but Trenchard moves out of range.
Trenchard lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Oh Frazier is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Frazier has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Trenchard is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Trenchard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jon Trenchard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jon Trenchard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Trenchard throws a right and a left that Frazier avoids nicely.
Frazier drops down looking for a counter takedown but Trenchard sprawls and moves away.

Frazier closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Frazier connects with a nice short shot to Trenchard's temple.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Frazier lands a nice short elbow.

Trenchard has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Frazier is on him like a limpet, forcing Trenchard back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are working up against the cage. Trenchard manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Trenchard is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Frazier is defending well.
Trenchard throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Trenchard is pressed up against the cage. Frazier has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Trenchard down to the mat. Trenchard avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Trenchard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Frazier moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Frazier shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Trenchard sprawls well. Trenchard wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Frazier gets slowly back to his feet.
Trenchard tries a quick counter leg kick but Frazier is wise to it.

I would just about give that final round to Jon Trenchard.
I think Trenchard has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
