Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thorn Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroshi Ekaku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thorn Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hiroshi Ekaku!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black loads up on a big right hand but Ekaku slips the punch.
Ekaku throws a right hand that misses

and Black counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Black.
Ekaku is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Ekaku is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Black trying to control the position from guard on top but Ekaku is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ekaku pulls Black in close to his closed guard and prevents Black from doing any damage or advancing position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ekaku is pulling down on Black's head. It's preventing any offense from Black, at least for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black trying to control the position from guard on top but Ekaku is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Black might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ekaku looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Ekaku throws a looping overhand right but Black ducks down to avoid it.
Black looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Ekaku throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Black drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ekaku throws a combination that misses

and Black decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ekaku's guard.
Black sitting in guard here, content to control.
Our spies down at at Convicted Fight Club inform us that Ekaku has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Ekaku controls Black momentarily but Black frees himself.

Black is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Black trying to control but Ekaku is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Black throwing strikes but missing.
Ekaku is controlling Black's posture.
Ekaku looking to control.
Black wants to control from the top but Ekaku keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ekaku is trying to control the position but Black postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hiroshi Ekaku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Black on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Ekaku misses with an uppercut. Black saw that one coming.
Black fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ekaku connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Black throws a body punch but Ekaku moves out of range.
Ekaku is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Ekaku scores with a hook to the body. Black takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ekaku lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ekaku avoids the body shot from Black.
Black is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.


Black is rocked!
Black is holding his hands too far apart here. Ekaku throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Black is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hiroshi Ekaku!
Hiroshi Ekaku decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
