Platanares's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Las Piedras Rodantes (El Tri de Mejico). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Platanares shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Platanares in particular looking to stall.

Platanares escapes and gets back to his feet.
Gras shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Platanares sprawls well. Platanares wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gras gets slowly back to his feet.
Platanares avoids a punch combination nicely.
Platanares is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Gras.
Platanares avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Platanares throws a big counter combination but Gras scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Platanares is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gras.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gras tries to close the distance and clinch up but Platanares swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gras shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Platanares appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Platanares takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Platanares shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gras manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gras looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Platanares is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Platanares stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Gras closes this distance looking for a takedown but Platanares circles away.
Aniceto Platanares has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gros Gras.

Platanares closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gras to the mat! Gras manages to get full guard.
Platanares seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Gras can't keep his opponent in guard - Platanares advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, if Platanares is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Gras tries to clinch but Platanares is having none of it.
Gras scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

It looks like Aniceto Platanares has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gras scores with the left hand. Platanares knows he should have avoided that one.

Gras sends Platanares crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gras is motioning to the referee to let Platanares up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Platanares is rocked!
Platanares leaves his chin hanging out and Gras seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Platanares crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
