The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stafford throws a right and a left that both miss.
A big left from Stafford misses.
Ben Stafford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Varga wants to clinch up but Stafford keeps it at a distance.
Stafford works the jab nicely.

Stafford has managed to clinch.
Varga wants to break the clinch but can't.
Stafford misses with a shot to the kidneys.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stafford lands with a light punch inside.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Varga has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Varga has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stafford is working away from the top position though.

Varga wants to improve his position but Stafford is controlling well.
Varga is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stafford's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stafford's back!

Stafford covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Varga has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Stafford is defending well but eventually Varga manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Stafford has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
